Pros

The culture is one both of hard work and fun. There's a good balance of work and life and management is flexible of personal obligations. I felt like I was given every opportunity to succeed and was very visible to upper management. Senior management is very willing and expected to mentor younger employees. If you're driven, talented and hungry to carve out and own your work, this is the place to be.

Cons

Attire is more formal. Open seating (no cubicles or offices) means no privacy at all. The ones willing to put in hours and work hard are rewarded, others that are less willing, stay stagnent or leave.

Pros

West Monroe has a very flexible work environment, the people you work with are great from the director level on down. People are supportive of each other and it creates a family working environment. The project environment is great along with the co-workers. When out of town on the road the teams are supportive of each other. The work environment is casual and relaxed.

Cons

The problem is with the managing director level and senior management. All of the good senior management/managing directors leave or are forced out by the CEO. He carries a different style of management with his direct reports than he does managers and below. To managers and below he treats them with open arms almost preaches to them and sings songs around the campfire. To the director and managing director level on up it is more of "what have you done for me lately" and then he doesn't speak to you if your on his bad list then asks other peers to force you out. The communication is terrible. The CEO preaches on how historically they have taken pay cuts to save jobs and people in the past. But back in December of 2008 he didn't think twice of laying off 23+ people before Christmas. West Monroe puts on a good front with it's talk of values but inside it is a different story. If it wasn't for the economy and job market I would of left, sooner.

Pros

It's a dynamic environment with a lot of energy. You have the opportunity to be exposed to things that you wouldn't be exposed to in a larger environment.

Cons

It definitely sticks close to its Arthur Andersen roots. If you like the Andersen enviroment (and like to drink the punch) then you will do well here. If you are not interested in having endless company meetings, singing songs and don't enjoy other such "bonding" ritural then this is not the place for you.
