Pros

Best dm ever. Everything else sucks.

Cons

Slow trucks 63 mph. Current safe stat csa score 99.9 worst possible score. Mandatory inspection on three different levels. Junk trailers. Bad tires, brakes, frozen slack adjusters, holes in floors and roofs. No grease, frozen cam lock bars etc. company wide 40 rollovers in less than six months. I had 12 inspections in one year total. No lie. .75 a mile only for short runs less than a hundred miles. Tons of super short runs. 200 miles to 300 etc. pay cap .35 no more bonus program. No more short haul pay. Gone. Mandatory fuel and ridiculous route solutions you must follow. Fontana terminal is a joke, you get to clean your assigned truck, no more truck washes at terminal. Terrible load planner in Fontana ca. Terminal mgr is a joke and a twanger and looks like a girlscout. Lots of Fontana to la or long beach when you get to hard. Tons of hay loads. Trailers consistently rejected by shippers. Be prepared to get pulled over just while driving down the road for poor safety rating class. Just look at the junk equipment as it passes by you. Stay away from this place, I lasted only because of my dm. I never made more than 25,000 per year here, I swear. Also they have speed guage on trucks, a tattle tale speed logging system for Eobr and speeding. Trucks are programmed and set to pull hard to right so if you fall asleep your truck will go right and not left into or across incoming traffic. Truck rpm limited to 1500. No pre pass, company does not qualify. Up to two hour holds for road breakdown.

Pros

Will get you dispatch loads and constantly keep you moving down the road.

Cons

I have started my career with Western Express and they expect you to stick to their suggested route. I try to stick to their routing the best i can but a few times their routing is useless. I have followed routing not updated as to construction areas were the road will be closed to all traffic or commercial vehicles. Routing will also sometimes but you on unauthorized roads and make it hard to get around them. Overall my perception of the company is that they only care if the load is delivered on time. I had hit adverse weather and winds blowing my truck around and they did not care that i pulled off the road for safety reasons "unbelievable". I am looking into other companies that have a little more professionalism and pay for your miles driven instead of barely surviving especially when you are given short runs consistantly and they cancel your dispatch on you because they can not get the right customer pickup number to you and can not pick up the phone and call them while you sit at the shipper for six hours. My truck has problems a cracked windshield, air leak in the tractor and eats a gallon of oil a week now. And my truck is now 4000 miles over service and asked to be routed back to the terminal to get thier truck fixed. I have yet to be at the terminal and they keep sending me other places so if thier truck breaks and t;hey find it on the side of the road its their problem not mine i did what i was suppose to do the get the problem fixed i got blown off, i will walk away from this company when the truck becomes to unsafe to operate or dies on the road. I have extreme doubts on Western Express's professionalism all i have seen is that they only care about frieght.
