Bad Fit Feeling

Pros

Good benefits package, they're making money.

Cons

Turnover is very uncommon but I don't think that's necessarily a good thing, it created stagnant culture. The people I saw leave our get let go are those who had unique viewpoints and/or tried to push for change. CEO is very smart but did not seem to welcome any challenging voices or viewpoints. Fortunately the insurance industry does not require great feats of innovation to survive.

Business is good, management is a men's club

Pros

The business decisions are sound on where the company is going and seems to be a stable company. The benefits were decent. The employee engagement activities are fun.

Cons

The upper management is very misogynistic. It is well known that men will get raises and bonus first and it will be higher. Promotions will go to the men unless there is no man that can take the role. Comments from upper management in public/group settings are made to minimize women and them wanting to have a family. They do not seem to support working mothers. There is no support from HR when reports are made regarding sexist comments. The majority of the managers are promoted due to tenure with the company, not their ability to manage.
