Great product, poor middle management, and no female representation
Pros
- Awesome people - Cool office culture - Product made from the ground up that you have direct impact on - Opportunities to get in front of senior management within Workiva and at other companies depending on role
Cons
- Terrible middle level management, no requirements for promotions - if you are in the "boys club" and have a lot of friends within the company you can become a manager. - No female representation, especially in some of the newer teams that are still mostly managed by men, no one steps in or notices sexism because there aren't many females in senior management. - Middle managers have no idea how to manage or mentor their teams and directors only care about how much money is being brought it since going public - direct impact to personal and professional growth. -Pay is way below national averages and varies greatly person to person depending on if you are a male/female, have friends at the company and they personally like you. -Special treatment to employees they like - performance doesn't matter in the "boys club" - Dealt with extremely unprofessional working environments at times, especially on male dominant teams and in roles that require travel
