Pros

I honestly don't feel like there are many pros to the position. They are flexible with work schedules, but I put in more hours than I did at the Big 4.

Cons

Very little opportunities for job advancement. Contrary to the other posting; the work is repetitive and uninspiring. Plus there is no support to help you succeed, and management overwhelms you with clients. I started with a optomistc outlook, but soon realized this was a dead-end career path. In addition, their is no accountability of management, CSMs' (They are to setup the financial documents but often botch the job creating work for PSMs'), or even developers.

Pros

The offices were newer and very nicely constructed so the surroundings are great. They also provide free snacks and beverages.

Cons

I am actually leaving in a week to work a similar position at a new company where I won't have to give every hour of the day to work. I feel betrayed in the worst way by Workiva and their demands. They push you so hard and in return you get nothing back. Leaving Workiva is like having a huge weight taken off my shoulders and it feels great. No more nights of working until 1-2-3am.

Pros

The people that work at Workiva are generally great, with positive mantras and good work ethic. We all are on this sinking ship together so its something you can bond over with your team.

Cons

Slavery. Not nearly enough CSM's or PSM's, so you are worked and worked and worked and pressured and pressured and pressured. ZERO work/life "effectiveness." You want a life/free time? TOO BAD! On top of all that, you get graced with poor compensation for the 50-60-70 hour work weeks. A certain director used to give rousing speeches about how "we give the best customer service around, lets keep it this way and go above and beyond all the time blah blah blah." Well I bought into that garbage for long enough. Im just trying to stay at this job long enough to find something else. I could care less about giving "great customer service." So many people in my department in Ames and all over the country and starting to realize that Workiva is not a great place to work! If you love being taken advantage of, having zero time out of work, and being exploited, come work at Workiva! They'll work you like a mule and tell you its not good enough. Workiva will fail for this reason alone.
