Horrible place to work

Pros

You will do a-lot of work with many systems and therefore learn a-lot.

Cons

Company will treat you like a number, you will be fed promises when they need you and then laughed off when they don’t. Your best hope that you are a UK national and the higher ups like you otherwise you will be sabotaged regardless of how much you do. Even if you get constant praises for your work, train others and deal with most difficult tasks no one else wants to do the company will find things against you just to not pay you your holidays or previously promised pay-rise, but dont worry they will first mess you around for many months with promises and excuses to juice the most out of you. - The company offers 25 days holiday which is below the legal minimum. - 3 out of 5 team members are off on sickness leave caused by the stress caused by the employer. If above still didn’t convince you to run, just look up the 1700+ court cases against the company of which majority is from mistreated employees.

Pros

Majority of the staff are great Potential to earn lots of your a managers favourite

Cons

Long working hours- 11 hour days Unpaid over time- hours are not given back if you have stayed extra Poor training in the showroom- one week training in Hull which is good but doesn’t include much about what to do after a sale Poor management- managers that shout and swear at staff. Staff turnover- I can not even count how many people that have either left or been sacked for “poor performance” Rota- they change rotas with no notice. The rota sent out never matches the calendar we book appointments on to Constant WhatsApp messages, when you mute or archive the group you are told off by management Poor customer service- takes up to an hour most days to speak to someone Management are only interested in getting a sale, no training on what to do after the sale. Upon asking for help you are told to go away or ignored. Customers call the showroom to speak to management, managers don’t want to speak to them. Often making us lie to the customer and say they are in a meeting. Customer that request a refund are often left chasing it to be done for weeks and weeks. There is no quality control- the amount of units that go out damaged is unreal. Hierarchy and management all seem to be fighting against each other. I have witnessed several managers slagging off other managers and hierarchy. It isn’t professional at all. Colleagues have made complaints about bullying that have never been taken seriously. 2 year probation period is obscene. If you aren’t a top performing sales person then you will soon be dismissed. Basic salary is very poor

Pros

Working with the customers and some colleagues

Cons

Micro management has got even worse now the managers have their little senior surveyors to do their dirty work. I wouldn’t mind but none of them have management experience and to qualify for the interview process, you needed to prove you could do your current job correctly and hand paperwork in on time. Hardly the skill set required to be managing people. But it’s yet another one of the big man’s ideas at H.O that hasn’t worked along with all the others but he’s to arrogant to admit it, and everyone is to scared to say anything. I wonder when the directors will look at the dept and realise that it needs freshening up and the 2 “leaders” that are sitting in HO making these ridiculous decisions need moving on. They have a bunch of 16 year olds on the admin team telling adults what to do and speak to them poorly over pathetic not needed paperwork. And the things you actually need them for like ordering uniform etc they don’t actually do. Over 6 months I’ve been asking now! Oh and don’t you dare get home from a measure 5 mins early and switch your engine off. You are expected to make your way back to a showroom and when 6:30 comes along turn around and start heading home. But it’s ok for them to predict how long it should take you to get to and from a showroom and if a measure finishes after your finish time but within that half an hour that’s ok. As you can continue working after you’ve finished. Double standards maybe!!! They’ve made up a KPI structure that has no evidence and can make up what your score is without having to prove it. Which affect your quarterly bonus and take money away from you. There are hardworking surveyors that do not stop and do an excellent job I have seen first hand but have been deducted up to £800 apparently for not hitting KPI’s.
