Pros

I’ve been a professional in the IT and Product space for approximately 20 years. I started working for FieldEdge approximately 6 months ago. I am extremely impressed by the talented staff at FieldEdge. The staff is full of skilled professionals who are extremely productive, friendly, and passionate about their work. The FieldEdge product is phenomenal. The design, feature set and functionality is robust and very well thought out. As with any SAS product, there are opportunities for more enhancements and improvements to the product. The staff and management team clearly have a constant focus on getting input from customers/end-users and continuously making product improvements. The first-rate agile product and development teams allow for product changes to happen at a fast pace and on a frequent cadence. There’s a great sense of camaraderie within the staff. Everyone seems well connected, well informed and working on the same page as a team. The culture is great. Team building events and social activities happen often. These events are organized both from management and staff members. Some events are spontaneous and some are planned. The management team is honest and listens to employees. While it’s unrealistic for all employee requests to be acted upon, the management team seems to take all requests seriously and regularly solicits feedback from employees. Changes to evolve and improve culture, processes, etc...are often implemented based upon feedback from employees. The future looks bright! FieldEdge is a growing Company with aggressive goals that are often met or exceeded. While the Company grows, the culture and vibe still feels like a “start up”.

Cons

It’s a fast paced environment with a lot of growth. While for many, this type of atmosphere is considered a pro, I do recognize that for some, this may be considered a con.

Pros

Good product for a very niche blue collar industry. Relaxed dress code. Snacks. Monster Energy Drinks. The occasional dog visit. Loud "cool" music. TV plays ESPN. Good camaraderie with team members if they decide to acknowledge your presence.

Cons

You will make hundreds of pointless sales calls. You will do countless sales call roleplays, deploy manager's advice, it will not work and you will get reprimanded for not having a good attitude. The commission is not worth the effort. My team lead had to call a prospect for 9 months just to make $25. The delusional "whatever it takes" mentality is Fyre Fest level. Team leads mean well but they strongly encourage you to work 12 hour days to show pro athlete level commitment for an Account Executive promotion 2-3 years in the future. You will have to stand up for "call blitzes" to make it look like you're working harder. The SDR managers only send GIFS on Slack, joke around, and give the same cliche advice because they're just glad they aren't the ones making calls. They added a snack bar to encourage a fresh, start up vibe, which is really just another excuse to keep you at the office until 8pm. During the holidays, they ran a sales contest where the prize was.... lottery tickets. Pretty disrespectful. I get it, sales is tough, cold calling is tough but don't try to incentivize your staff with the chance to win up to $10K. Not the most diverse place. If you're a former SEC/ACC sorority girl/frat boy you can get hired pretty quickly. Once you're outside of the "clique", go ahead and start looking for another gig.

Thank you for the feedback and insight into your experience with FieldEdge. My number one goal is to create an inclusive and engaging workplace to progress our SDRs’ careers, so it frustrates me that you felt excluded and didn’t see this as a long-term place to grow. Our managers invest a lot of time and effort into individuals with the goal of helping SDRs achieve their potential and prepare for their next role. As of today, the average SDR promoted to another department/team does so within their first 12 months at FieldEdge. I also want to say that the SDR position is tough. There’s no silver bullet that works for every situation, frequent rejection and repetition so we try to inject energy and fun throughout the day. The intention of standing during a call blitz is not a punishment or for optics, and it has never been mandatory. There are many sources that cite benefits like clearer and more engaging speech, increased confidence, and energizing others around you. Likewise, incentives like lottery tickets are used but not as the sole vehicle for rewarding the team or individuals. We try to rotate incentives and spiffs to keep them motivating, using feedback from the team. Thank you, Adam Satow Director of Sales Development

Pros

I work for a manager that trusts me to get the job done and provides me the autonomy to do it! That's precisely the kind of environment I know I thrive in and knew I wanted to be a part of. It's why I wanted to work here. I believe that's something we do very well here at FE - hire people we know can do the job and trust them to do it while providing the tools that allow them to be successful. Another thing I enjoy about working at FE - we help people grow in their careers internally. We look within when hiring for most any role and have promoted multiple people across the organization! We're in a position where we are growing so fast that we need to look both internally and externally, but I think it's a great mix that will continually better our culture. When someone isn't thriving in a role, we don't immediately look to fire the person, but look for other opportunities that they might be able to perform better in! Right now, I think we're going through some changes that are going to allow us to grow as an organization and continue to provide a strong culture. There's a recognition that there are a lot of opportunities for us to get better, but I think that's the first (and probably hardest) step in growth.

Cons

- I think we need to do a better job of investing in events and experiences for people within the office to interact outside of work - Personally, I wish there was more investment in the physical space we work in. We just moved offices 3 months ago, but where we are now, there wasn't a ton of emphasis seemingly placed on providing a visually appealing place to work in. Just a small thing though. - Communication and transparency is something that can always be improved and I think we're on the right path. Definitely still work to do on that end!
