Pros

Pros of working at Yanfeng. Seriously?

Cons

Fake promises from day 1. I was promised to get involve in a project I joined company for. However, they simply ignored it. In the first week of my employment I was given a work which was not my area of expertise. I put all my efforts and completed given tasks but the manager would get frustrated if I asked questions or if my work was not upto his/her standard, even if I didnt know what that was. Lean and six sigma are just on papers. Reality is horrible. If you want to see the worst just visit their shop floor. I have seen many shop floors but this was the dirtiest, unsafe and unorganised of them all. When asked they just say that the culture is different here. Speaking of culture it is discouraging, lies all around, unprofessional and politics. Only management is safe. Unless they fire all management so not work for them. It was the worst decision of my career.

Pros

Decent benefits. Plant has a lot of operators and salaried employees who are genuine, good people that work hard and care about one another.

Cons

Worst HR dept. I have ever encountered (frequent mistakes on paychecks/benefits, impersonal, care much more about blood drives/charity events than helping plant employees with day to day issues). Plant level management has literally no control over this business - our plant manager practically needs the NA VP’s approval every time our plant needs to purchase an extra roll of duct tape. NA leadership implement/demand sweeping initiatives/results and give plants no guidance or resources to implement changes. Everything is poorly planned, and regional leadership only cares about monthly metrics. This company likes to believe that we innovate; however, we do not. Everything this company does to compete is driven by a short term, bottom line mentality that is not sustainable: cutting costs, funneling more and more responsibilities to salaried-exempt employees, etc.

It's a job . Paid by the week.

Cons

Lots of cons management on shop floor is bad. Favortism between supervisors and some associates, Some of the supervisors should not be in this positions. High turnover in employees. No recognition for associates that have been there a long time.Need raises not excuses.They are giving supervisors more vacation then the employees like 5 weeks Employees.only have 6 points before you are fired.Keep raising production and it is almost impossible now. Machinery is falling apart .You can sit in the office and give out extra to do but the management aren't the ones building the product. Almost 500 parts you expect in 10 hours or less. Working the associates like mules without any compensation not even a thank you.
