Our nursing rates are based on years of experience and differ from contract to contract, based on cost of living and market assessments of what nearby medical facilities are paying. Some of our really remote locations warrant a step up from some neighboring facilities as we have to make it attractive for nurses to travel the extra distance from home. The only other variance would be for those nurses in PRN status. They are paid a premium as they have no guarantee of hours. Hopefully this helps. The amount of transition and change the company has undergone the last four years is certainly not without growing pains. A corporate decision was made to eliminate duplication of departments in both Healthcare Support Team offices, resulting in a reduction in force, at both locations, for certain areas. Now, mostly through the hurdles associated with a merge, things are calming down and we are getting back to the basics. Change is tough on people, but it’s a necessary part of doing business.
