Pros

The only pro about working for this company is the job itself.

Cons

First of all, working at Alhambra has given a new definition for a circus. Staff are quitting left and right. there hasn't been adequate a/c accommodations in the medical dept since I have been there.

Thank you for taking time to provide feedback on Corizon Health. Not having A/C can certainly be a huge frustration, however Corizon does not run the facility. I would suggest letting your FHA know your concern and he/she can speak with Warden/Superintendent to get an update on when services expect to be repaired. As it pertains to staff turnover, that is certainly a concern worth voicing. We have a concentrated effort, company-wide, to reduce turnover. We have recently reassigned a Vice President of Operations, over the facilities in Phoenix. If you’d be willing to share observations about why you think people are leaving (other than the a/c issue which is, unfortunately, beyond our control), you can contact Courtney.Penning@CorizonHealth.com. She will be happy to get that information to the new VPO. Sincerely, Heather Dale Employee Relations Specialist

Pros

If you want to work here and then later get laid off, this is the place to work!

Cons

There are too many red flags that started appearing last year: two changes of the CEO, most executives that came on board with the previous CEO have left the company, too many secret meetings behind closed doors, non-transparent management, lost contracts and decrease in workload, people quitting and not being replaced, the list goes on...and there are more lay offs to come.

I agree, it has been a rough time at Corizon as of late. I attribute a portion of that to the change in leadership, although I feel more confident in our current leadership team than I have in the last three years. At the heart of it, we are a government contract based business. As the volume of contracts we have, ebbs and flows, so does the number of staff required at corporate, to support those in the field. The decision to not replace certain positions when people leave, is a responsible one on the part of management. Should those positions have been replaced, more would’ve been impacted by layoffs. The overall mentality has become, we can all do a little more, and take on things previously outside of our job scope, to help our team members. Our current CEO saw this review, and questioned if the general consensus of staff, is that we are positioning to be sold. I let him know there is some mutterings of this in the rumor mill. He’s genuinely focused on managing our position and message to our current employees. I do think it’s noteworthy to point out, he is tuned in here. That said, having been here for 10 years, I’ve been through sale of the company before. We are held by a private equity firm, and when those sales happen, disruption to day to day activity is typically very minimal. Sorry your experience wasn’t better. Pros

Salary is reasonable for the ARNP position, paid time off accrues at a reasonable rate and the expected work hours are good

Cons

Minimal support for the staff, little response for upper management in regards to issues with staff, limited approval for nonformulary medications, tests and consults to improve patient health.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your input on working at Corizon Health. We are glad to hear you feel that we offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Our management team is provided with various trainings: One piece of which is “coaching”. Since problems are most easily resolved at the lowest level, upper management attempts to first allow site management to address employee concerns. As needed, upper management will intervene as necessary based on the circumstances. If employee matters or concerns are not resolved to their satisfaction at the site level, our employee handbook outlines steps that can be taken to appeal up the chain of command. We encourage staff to engage in the problem solving process should issues surface during their employment with Corizon Health. Sincerely, Heather Dale, Employee Relations Specialist
