Without knowing what department you are in, it’s hard to speak to specifics you’ve outlined below. I would encourage you to call the corporate compliance line if you truly feel there are unethical practices happening in your area. Those sorts of accusations are not taken lightly.
As it pertains to low pay- we have a compensation department that does rigorous market surveys and uses government reporting tools to determine pay ranges for our corporate positions. We don’t have significant challenges in filling corporate roles, which is typically an indicator that we are market competitive. We offer 16 different options for insurance, depending on what carrier you choose, and which level of coverage you need. Personally, I am paying about $25/check for insurance, and I think that’s more than reasonable.
It’s a cafeteria plan, so, if you don’t want certain parts of the insurance- say dental or vision, you opt out, and don’t have to pay for those. Time off equates to 25 days/year right out of the gate, with bumps every few years, based on longevity. 5 weeks PTO is also market competitive, if not slightly more generous than industry norm.
Ultimately, a place of employment is about more than pay or benefits or PTO. I stay because I love the people I work with, the opportunities I’ve been given and the investment the company has made to my professional development. I’ve seen lots of long time co-workers promote or move in to other departments, and I think the organization does a great job of fostering that, for those willing to put in the work and be 100% dedicated to what we do. I’m sorry this hasn’t been your personal experience.
Sincerely,
Courtney Penning
