Pros

Plenty of hours, increase in pay

Cons

they overworked the staff & if anyone resisted or spoke expressed any discontent or request a change in how things were managed, they suddenly were "fired". absolutley worst company I've ever worked for.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience with Corizon. As noted, we did just implement new nursing rates at some of the sites that have experienced significant vacancies. We recognize shortages can lead to a few doing the work of many. In terms of termination, with 8,000 employees nationwide, we have very defined corrective action and termination policies that a site must follow. We have had significant management change throughout Arizona recently. I will gladly pass this on to senior operations so that they can make sure your experience, isn’t the case for others, at your site. Sincerely, Courtney Penning, Director of Talent Acquisition

AWFUL EXPERIENCE

Pros

Yo do not deal with family of your "patients"....you do not have to beg anyone to take their meds.

Cons

The worst possible situation as a nurse that I have ever experienced. Sadly enough, it was all the medical staff & DOC that made it that way. LPN's constantly belittled and degraded. Even our vital signs were questioned!

Pros

CME reimbursement allotment was acceptable. Many of the staff are able to build a positive work relationships with jail staff and administrators.

Cons

Nonexistent support from site and corporate management. Unprofessional management relationships with staff: management going on vacation and out for drinks with a select few of staff. Racial tension: racial slang names used instead of using the staff's proper name. Retaliation against staff who stand up for themselves. Management leaving the building at times of high demand/crisis. All the above has been mentioned to corporate level many times by many different employees of different races and nothing was done. In terms of contract, management/corporate expects the employee to uphold their end (which is appropriate) but does not hold up their end (extra service pay, expanse reimbursement take months to get paid back, if at all).
