Pros

Self directed work, good pay, average benefits. Not too extensive training for the industry. Good car allowance. No excessive regional meetings.

Cons

This is just not your normal medical device company. The proof is in the fact there are nearly zero reps there with a tenure longer than 3 years. I don't begrudge any company's choice of sales management philosophy because ultimately it's their their money and their choice, but it's our choice to sign up for it or not. There is a problem now with them filling positions with qualified and successful reps. The first year is great because expectations are low. The 2nd year is ok, then the 3rd year is spent chasing a runaway quota. It's then that on cue your abilities are questioned and documentation and field rides become the tool to remove you for the next rep to repeat the cycle. It's their business model to squeeze the most juice from any lemon. It makes them a lot of money that they normally would not deserve based on the merit of their technology. The problem here is one of credibility. One half of the indications for the ZOLL lifestyle are genuinely appropriate. The Indications that represent the other half of the opportunity for the ZOLL Lifevest just aren't supported by the medical literature, or any randomized controlled study. You are directed to ignore this and play on the fear that the patient with a 1% chance of experiencing an event will die. The greatest tell is that they do not have good close relationships with any large cardiology research facilities. Ie Mayo, Cleveland clinic, even in their HQ hometown of Pittsburgh the university of Pittsburgh does not fully embrace the technology.

Pros

Good PTO, competitive starting wage

Cons

- toxic work environment - egos are valued over knowledge and hard work. - antiquated systems that constantly break - many in leadership have ZERO people skills or leadership skills. Could not figure out why people who literally cannot have a conversation with their direct reports were in management. - it’s like working for high school bullies. Management takes no accountability and blames hourly workers. Most leaders cannot do their department’s functions. This means employee questions are often unanswered or glossed over. - communication is nonexistent or so poor that everyone is frustrated or misinformed. - career advancement is dependent on management’s “favorites” - little consistency in corporate policies. The company allows individual department managers to act like tyrants, enacting policies that other departments don’t have to follow.

Pros

Still trying to figure that out

Cons

- base salary is low considering the workload - commission payout plan is pathetic but they will try to sell it like they're doing you a favor - poor leadership - career development opportunities are a joke/lacking Bottom line: don't work for Lifevest
