Pros

- Opportunities for personal growth and learning opportunities - Remote work (Depends on team, Bellevue and SFO got RTO'd)

Cons

- Culture changed a lot since pandemic. Feels like there's little soul left - Some of the leadership is great, others not so much. - Depending on your manager, there's no chance to get promotion - Frequently working two time zones

Pros

When I first joined, the benefits were strong and leadership had a clear vision. It felt like the company was headed in a good direction. Unfortunately, that has really declined over the past 2–3 years, and it's getting harder to find real positives. There are still some growth opportunities, but they’re pretty limited and often don’t lead to meaningful career development.

Cons

Leadership is constantly changing and not aligned. New roles get created without any clear purpose, and people are moved around like chess pieces — just with way less strategy. Employee and customer feedback is mostly ignored, but there are always new initiatives rolled out to make it seem like we’re being heard. The way layoffs are handled is honestly pretty terrible. People just disappear overnight with no explanation, their access cut off. Those who speak up often seem to be next. Then a few weeks later, the same roles pop up again in a different location. Trust in leadership is low. We’ve been told things like “there won’t be more layoffs,” only for the opposite to happen not long after. This is a global phenomen.

It’s good to hear that your early experience at Zoom included strong benefits and a clear vision from leadership. We understand that shifts in structure and changes in direction can create uncertainty, and your perspective reflects how important transparency and stability are during times of growth and change.
