Zoom was great but lost its way

Pros

It was a great culture back in 2020 even if it was. The opportunities were plenty and customers were in need of video competing obviously during Covid.

Cons

Horrible culture began when they change leadership in the ANZ region. They did not promote anyone internally and decided to bring in outside leadership which completely destroyed culture and it became a rotating door of people getting a job and then leaving not long after because they realise how horrible it was.... they decided to throw the cheque-book at people outside the business rather than offering people internally who had succeeded any chance of progression.

Thank you for sharing your experience and perspective. It’s great to hear that you were part of Zoom during a time when the culture was strong and opportunities were abundant—those moments can be especially impactful. We also understand how changes in leadership and hiring strategies can influence team dynamics and overall culture, particularly at a regional level. Your feedback highlights the importance of balancing external hiring with internal growth opportunities, as well as ensuring that insights from frontline teams are heard and acted on. We appreciate you taking the time to provide such candid and detailed feedback.

Pros

Pay is good, CEO is kind (but helpless)

Cons

Culture has become very toxic across the board since 2023. Management folks in CIO org threaten employees constantly saying they will be kicked out of the company and I have been told this too. I have been constantly and publicly yelled at by my management for no reason, folks in those meetings have watched it quietly and these meetings were recorded. Not sure if this happens to strong female leaders alone. But there is no option but to keep quiet and get picked as a target for Reduction in Workforce.

Pros

Competitive salary, good and talented people

Cons

Literally everything else. Executive leadership is caught in a cycle of chasing one shiny thing after another and expecting it done yesterday. Everything is an emergency, every time.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s great to hear that you valued the competitive compensation and had the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues. We also understand how a lack of clarity around direction and shifting priorities can impact day-to-day work and overall experience. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.
