Pros

Interesting technical challenges, opportunities to learn good tech skills, at the time I was there we had some amazing talent that I learned a lot from (which has since mostly left). The pay was very competitive, I would even say generous.

Cons

Office politics, confused business direction, lots of unnecessary drama, not safe to express opinions that differ from management (even privately). Many people fired (not laid off) for questionable reasons (not me fortunately, but many others). There may have been legitimate reasons that weren't shared in some of these cases, but I'm dubious that it this was true in all cases. A lot of extremely capable technical talent was squandered and ultimately left the company in frustration.

Pros

Work environment is fun and relaxed. Management treats you with respect and allows you to work at your own pace without micromanaging you. People believe in the product!

Cons

There have been some changes since the acquisition that are still being worked out but for the most part issues are addressed quickly.

Great place to work overall

Pros

Provided great opportunities to give back to the community as well as a great work life balance. We also did agile right with a large emphasis on quality software. This is accomplished mostly by writing testable software, unit testing and automated testing that was actually paid attention to.

Cons

A little too much agile resulted in sometimes a lot of meetings. It also resulted in design by committee so individual engineering was sometimes tough, though you could see this as a benefit from a business perspective.
