Pros

I’ve been with iDashboards for about two years and have seen a lot of changes. They have made an effort to listen to employee feedback and research market trends to redirect marketing efforts and provide relevant product enhancements. The company is small enough where you can express your opinions comfortably and agile enough to make changes quickly. They have the managers more focused on managing the team rather than trying to sell which has been positive. The CEO has also become more laser focused on marketing and driving qualified leads to the sales team in order to hit sales targets this year which has been lacking in the past. Starting at iDashboards, I did not have a technical background or knowledge of the software world. It’s a great place to learn and grow in your career if you are interested in making a move to the tech world. Being on the sales side, I wouldn’t say I’m a data guru but I have developed extensive knowledge in my vertical of expertise and how data visualization fits in the market to successfully position it. The pre-sales and post-sales teams are a HUGE pro of iDashboards. Being in sales you may not have the skill set to transform an Excel spreadsheet into a meaningful visual or write a SQL query on the spot to wow a prospect but that’s why you leverage the pre-sales team. The post-sales team, who goes on-site to customer consulting engagements, is also A+. They help make your implementation successful and provide the customer with the feeling that they made the right decision. Most customers go on to purchase additional licenses and training which is where you really make money here. The best part about working at iDashboards is the people. I truly enjoy my co-workers who I also call friends. The culture is very fun and there are a lot of company events throughout the year ranging from the annual company golf outing to dodge ball tournaments to family picnics. Working from home is a great perk. If you are hitting your number and putting in the activity, you get to work from home 2 days a week. To be successful at iDashboards, you have to put in the effort. Things are not going to fall in your lap. You have to be dedicated to learning the product, learning your vertical, and understanding how they fit together. If you are open to lots of outbound prospecting (cold calling) and putting in at least a year of ramp-up time, you will do well at this company.

Cons

Biggest issue - the base pay is lower than industry standard so they lose a lot of talented senior reps. There has been multiple restructuring of the sales teams which I believe has been positive overall, but still needs some work. Everyone on the sales team could use some training, including the managers. No formal training process put in place. Product could use a face lift and make the GUI easier to use from a non-technical perspective. I’ve used it, not that easy.

Pros

The reason to work at iDashboards is the people that you will work with every day. I started at iDashboards almost two years ago, and for the past two years I have been privileged to work with some of the most amazingly smart, and talented people. These people which include iDashboards leadership, and my peers have helped me grow both professionally and personally. Knowing very little about dashboards, I quickly became comfortable after the training period working with an industry leader in data visualization software. Continuing education is important to leadership and the rest of the team. Over the past two years I have gained great hands on real world experiences working with data in Microsoft Excel and in T-SQL in a multitude of different industries. iDashboards leadership encourages continuing education with group and self-study. iDashboards reimbursed individuals on my team for passing Microsoft certification tests. My team is a part of the tech services group which is fantastic. An open environment where you can feel comfortable expressing your opinions to the team. Management is always listening to feedback and being open to implementing new organic ideas from the group quickly. Change happens often so the environment is constantly evolving as the company grows. Some of the major changes that have happened during my time may have been slow, but all have had positive impacts on the company and the culture. My previous employer was at a large company where you interacted little with people in other areas or departments. Access to HR was a 1-800 number for me not someone in person. Here at iDashboards there is a very active and engaged HR department who is extremely focused on employee morale along with team activities to help bond the different departments together and keep the work atmosphere enjoyable. Expect to be invited to quarterly happy hours, golf tournaments, holiday events, special activates, or events raising money for local charities and blood drives. iDashboards is a place where you are going to work hard, occasionally putting in some long hours, but enjoying the benefits of hanging out with a group of people every day that you can also call your friends.

Cons

The product architecture is starting to age. Development can be stubborn about software updates and enhancement suggestions. Even though you get great hands on experience in data visualization, business intelligence and project management, career growth within the company is limited in a technical sense.

Pros

They like to have fun and pretend everything is okay.

Cons

Where to begin... Low pay.... HIGH turnover would be an understatement....They say you can work remote or from home, but that is far from true and only applies to certain people...Favoritism here is ridiculous. Cherry picking from managers and leadership, leads that do come to the sales reps are more often than not bad leads. They are afraid to fire people that need to be let go, although that has begun to change a little bit. The sales team needs to be cut down to a max of 5-10 people total. Play hard, work not at all.... Ping pong and xbox are a terrible idea when you are down in sales for the quarter/year.

Thank you for taking the time to contribute a review. We’re sad to hear that your experience hasn’t been a great one and would love to help change your opinion of our company if we can so I’d encourage you to speak to a manager to share your concerns. We absolutely make every effort to decrease turnover, while turnover can sometimes be unavoidable we’re proud of the fact that the average tenure of the workforce at iDashboards is currently 3.2 years. Plus, more than 80% of our management team has been promoted from within after growing their careers within the organization. Also, to address your concern on lead distribution, it should be pointed out that while in the past there may have been issues with former managers selling into the same territories as their reps, there are now zero overlapping sales territories in the organization.
