Pros

* Great work life balance * Stellar product * Great customers

Cons

* Executive leadership team doesn’t facilitate an environment of collaboration. Very “my way or the highway” type of environment. * Feedback is often overlooked or not taken seriously. * If you are slow to implement given vision or pushback at all, bridges are burned and can lead to you being forced out (my way or the highway approach). *Lack of direct departmental/intimate enablement. * VERY focused on getting the most ARR upfront when coordinating contracts/ deals. Which can leave AEs in awkward positions when you are trying to work long term deals with customers. * Since being acquired by Thoma Brava, the culture of Nearmap has been stomped out completely. Literally unrecognizable.

Great company with growing pains in the US

Pros

The leadership team and employees are all wonderful people. The company's key values hold, and they always try to uphold them.

Cons

The company is centered around the sales team, and all corporate training and initiatives are centered around sales. However, they fail to integrate programs and processes related to the extended teams, such as marketing, customer success, or product marketing. Opportunities for moving up in those roles are very limited.

3/10….But Easy to Improve

Pros

The product is great. Their position in the marketplace is equally great.

Cons

Your map is headquartered in Australia. The US business is run like an Australian company, so naturally there are quite a few disconnects. Compensation is below market rate, benefits are the same way. Management reports through Australia and can’t really get anything done w/ out their approval. Internal processes and technologies are dated and cumbersome and it seems like the company is constantly getting in its own way.

Thanks for taking the time to post your review; we always appreciate the feedback whether it is through Glassdoor, our Quarterly Pulse Surveys or our Monthly Business Updates. Nearmap was founded in Perth, Western Australia, by Stuart Nixon in 2008, and since then, we have significantly grown our customer base across Australia, New Zealand and North America. Our heritage will always be Australian, however we recognize the need to support our growth in North America and are reviewing how to better support the team and our customers there. We won't get it right all the time, but we are very committed to our customers and making Nearmap a great place to work. We are a work in progress :)
