Sorcero is a company where the branding is far more developed than the business itself. Externally it looks sophisticated and strategic. Internally it feels chaotic, immature and badly run. Significant effort goes into jargon and self congratulations, but there is not enough substance underneath.
The biggest issue is leadership. The C-suite seems far more interested in appearing impressive than building a company that functions properly. Ego and optics drive too much of the decision-making. Priorities shift constantly, accountability is nonexistent and employees are expected to deliver excellent work in dysfunctional conditions.
Roles are poorly defined, workloads excessive, boundaries weak. Structural problems do not get fixed. They get pushed down until employees absorb them. When things go well, leadership takes credit. When things go badly, the burden lands on staff. The result is exhausting, demoralizing, and toxic.
What is especially concerning is how this gets brushed off as “startup culture” or “moving fast”. For a mature startup, that excuse does not hold. Despite the denials and finger pointing, this is a serious leadership problem.
In a company operating in life sciences, where work touches healthcare, the lack of rigor is alarming. When leadership treat honesty, accountability and discipline as nice to haves, everyone should be worried.
