Covid - 19 Update Did you know. . . A common misconception is why we are required to wear masks. The use of a mask is Not to protect you (the wearer) from others who may have the Corona virus. It is to protect others from you (the wearer) spreading the virus. With the virus having a large portion of asymptomatic (meaning they do not have symptoms of the virus) individuals, many do not realize they have the virus and can spread it to others, especially those at a higher risk, just by talking, singing, shouting, coughing, or sneezing close to another person. Data shows that the virus spreads mainly among those in close distance contact, which means within 6 feet -- masks are especially important in these circumstances. Continue to be Safe and Healthy!
COVID 19 Update Did you know. . . The first case in the United States of an animal testing positive for Covid was a tiger at the New York zoo. A small number of pet cats and dogs have tested positive for the virus. Most of these infected pets were exposed through human contact. Continuing studies on animals and the virus show that smaller pets such as cats, dogs, hamsters and ferrets can become infected and spread ithe virus to their own species. Studies continue to develop information.

This has placed the decrease of such accidents as a top priorty for the FMCSA. This summit is a place for interested parties to collaborate on the issue. Go to fmcsa.dot.gov for more information

Cape Girardeau County has followed suit as of 12:01 AM this morning, Monday July 13th, with failure to obey the law being a Class A Misdemeanor punishable with up to a $1000 fine and 1 year in prison. For the safety of all, Buchheit has enacted a similar policy requiring masks when unable to maintain social distance of at least six feet . As always, be safe and stay healthy!

While some people and establishments may see this as a way to gain an advantage, Buchheit sees it as another way to give back to the communities we serve. We have reached out to several organizations to lend a glove-covered hand whenever we get rare shipments of these cherished supplies at our retail stores. ------ 6600 Gloves and 659 Masks ------ have been provided to help local healthcare providers and first responders. Together, our communities are strong!
