Lauren McNiff, a Procurement Supervisor here at Eversource, will be running 26.2 miles for the ninth time this Saturday at the Eversource Harford Marathon. The South Boston resident will be running to support the Martin Richard Foundation. We’re so proud of our employees like Lauren who power the possible every day.
Saturday was not Jason Henley’s first rodeo. Henley, an overhead lineworker from our Plymouth service center, dominated the speed climb three years ago in 2015. We can’t wait to see our entire team power the possible at this years International Lineman's Rodeo in Overland Park, Kansas. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQxsE
Congrats to our CT senior journeyman team who came in third place at the International Lineman’s Rodeo in Kansas this weekend! More than 200 teams and 300 apprentices competed at the 35th annual rodeo. Nine teams from Eversource powered the possible in four events: pole climbing, hurt man rescue and one of two mystery events revealed Saturday morning.
Our volunteers empower runners to do their best! They sure are a huge part of this race
Brenda and Orwin Watson always cheer each other on no matter what race they’re in. The couple trains together for the events at the Eversource Hartford Marathon every year. “We love this race,” said Brenda Watson. “It’s an excellent way to see Hartford.” Orwin, a supervisor in our substation operations, is running the 5k this year and Brenda is running the half. “Running is something we enjoy doing together,” Orwin said. It will be anything but quiet Saturday as the Watsons clap and encourage one another to cross that finish line!
Saturday, Oct. 13—it’s a day Jesse Sythe has been preparing for all summer. The Wethersfield resident will be lacing up his sneakers that morning for his first-ever marathon. Jesse is one of more than 150 Eversource employees running the Eversource Hartford Marathon and its other races that day. Since Jesse started training, he lost 20 pounds, but his biggest motivation to run has been his role as a foster parent. “I want to inspire my kids to accomplish their goals in life by accomplishing a big one of my own,” said Jesse, a trainer in our system operations department. “They’ve been able to see all the hard work that I’ve put into getting here, and now they will see it pay off.” We can’t wait to see Jesse power the possible and cross that finish line after 26.2 miles on Saturday.
The date for the Eversource Hartford Marathon is always marked on the Korzeniowski family calendar. “We all look forward to it every year,” said Maria Korzeniowski. “It motivates us follow a training routine in preparation for the race which had a positive impact on my family’s health and brought us closer together.” Maria and her husband Wojciech are running the 5k together along with their 9-year-old son, David. Their daughter Isabella, 6, will be in the kids' race. It’s a true family affair! We’re happy to see the marathon empowering and inspiring families to get outside. Can’t wait for Saturday!
