Johnsonville, along with dozens of other local employers, was nominated for a couple of local awards in the “Working Together” category, during the 2025 Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce gala. Congratulations and thanks go to the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC), for its leadership and collaboration in The Forward Fund partnership. Johnsonville, Kohler Co., Masters Gallery, Sargento and Sheboygan County were recognized for its work forming The Forward Fund. At the chamber gala, the Forward Fund Partnership captured the award in the “Working Together” category. The four companies and county contributed $10M total to start the partnership and eventually build 200+ single-family homes across Sheboygan County. Currently, 27 different county employers have families living in the first subdivision in Sheboygan Falls, called Founders’ Pointe. Congratulations goes to our marketing-communications team, which was honored with a Silver Effie at the 2025 US Awards Gala in New York City. An Effie win is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the marketing industry. Outrage is all the rage today, but on a hunch that America was more unified than traditional polls told us, Johnsonville ran a political poll of its own. The Johnsonville National Temperature Check, conducted last year with The Harris Poll, confirmed that America agrees on a lot. Data underscored Americans’ desire to reconnect and revealed that 80% of Americans felt exhausted by the anger and negativity in the country. Inspired by this commonality, the brand team embraced the tonal shift with a call to action to turn down the temperature and “Keep It Juicy.” For more detail, visit the Johnsonville newsroom at: https://johnsonville.com/news/johnsonville-earns-silver-effie-award/
We love having fun with our sausage fans and consumers. What was supposed to read "Give Yourself a Round of Applause" just read differently to Wheel of Fortune contestant Will Jordan. His incorrect guess ("Treat Yourself a Round of Sausage") went viral, but he had a great sense of humor about his flub, and Johnsonville jumped on the fun moment with Mr. Jordan.
Johnsonville's Illuminating Project award and Member recognition were featured in the Sheboygan Press recently..
Our private carrier fleet was featured in this issue of Fleet Owner magazine. The article addresses how the OTR team at Johnsonville helps grow the brand nationwide through service and safety, and an emphasis on quality.
Johnsonville, Kohler, Master's Gallery and Sargento - all family-owned and multi-generational businesses came together to create the Forward Fund, in an effort to support affordable houses to first-time home buyers and newcomers to Sheboygan County, WI. Media host Soledad O'Brien reports on the collaborative effort during her "Matter of Fact" national show.
Congratulations goes to Johnsonville’s OTR driver Kirk Phillips, who’s been a Johnsonville Member since 1981 and accumulated 3.1 million miles without an accident, injury or moving violation! His impressive record and safety accomplishments were recognized by the National Private Truck Council’s Driver Hall of Fame during their annual conference. He was one of just four drivers inducted annually. To qualify, a driver must have driven 3 million+ miles, 20 years or 50,000 hours of consecutive driving without a preventable accident. Prior to his time behind the wheel, he was a mechanic working on Johnsonville’s trucks. Kirk was hired at Johnsonville to work in the plant. On his fourth day, knowing Kirk had his chauffeur’s license, Kirk was asked to move some product down to Milwaukee. From there, Kirk was hooked on driving! The Illuminating Project, LLC founder, Juliane Troicki, recently presented Johnsonville with the first Illuminating Award for Excellence in Employee Appreciation. The award was presented during a reception held at the company’s headquarters to honor the 34 women who were nominated by their peers for the Illuminating Women Project recognition that Johnsonville sponsored internally. Nominations were accepted in late 2023 for current Johnsonville female Members across its international organization. Troicki and her team interviewed the Johnsonville nominees and featured their story and professional photo in a gallery showcased at the company's headquarters in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. Troicki presented the award after being inspired while interviewing 34 women at Johnsonville as part of the Illuminating Women Project, to shine a light on female leaders in the community and workplaces. Johnsonville Owner and Chairwoman Shelly Stayer sponsored the Illuminating Women Project here because she wanted to shine a spotlight on the many women who are driving forces at the company. “This was a great opportunity to say, ‘thank you,’ in a meaningful way to these unsung heroes who are making an impact not only in our family-owned company but also in the meat industry and in their communities,” said Stayer. “This project was a great way to truly celebrate their accomplishments.”
We give a shout-out to our youth apprentices who are about to graduate from high school, while also getting a jump-start on potential career options by working in our maintenance departments at two of our plants in Sheboygan Falls. Kamron and Jack are Sheboygan North High School seniors building skills such as metalworking, troubleshooting, time management, preventative maintenance and working as a team. Kamron works second shift at our Countryside facility and will pursue a mechanical engineering degree after graduation. “I'd welcome an opportunity to stay with Johnsonville’s maintenance team because this environment is so friendly, helpful and cooperative.” He says the apprentice program is the perfect experience for students who may be unsure what career options exist in a technical industry. Jack works on a first-shift maintenance team at our Riverside plant, learning and helping the other maintenance team members on a variety of daily tasks and equipment repairs. He’ll apply all this learning as he also plans to attend college and earn a mechanical engineering degree. Our apprentice program gives interested students real-world work experience (and a paycheck!) as they consider different career opportunities in manufacturing and other technical fields. It’s available to eligible high school juniors and seniors. #YouthApprenticeWeek #LearnForLife
