ICYMI: The GIANT Teddy Bear Toss was record-breaking! Hershey Bears' fans covered the ice with 67,309 stuffed animals, all of which are being donated to local children's charities and organizations. So today on #MLKDay and throughout the week, team members will come together across our footprint to support 14 community events designed to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King. Together, we will continue connecting families to a better, more equitable future.
We’re excited to be a part of the 107th Pennsylvania Farm Show to showcase the best of Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry and the people who dedicate their lives to making it flourish. This year’s theme, Rooted in Progress, promises a peek into the past, present, and future of agriculture innovation and creativity for feeding our communities and reimagining the farm-to-table experience. At our booth in the GIANT Expo Hall, we’re partnering with our farmers, growers, and food processor partners to create an interactive experience that connects showgoers to those producing their food. We’re grateful to our supplier partners that will join us throughout the week, offering samples and opportunities for visitors to learn more about where their food comes from. But it’s not all work; there’s plenty of play, too, as our team members will also participate in Farm Show-favorite events, including the celebrity honey extraction and celebrity cow milking contests. From classic sugar cookies to gingerbread and peanut butter blossoms, 'tis the season to be baking! In honor of National Cookie Exchange Day, our dietitians are sharing their pro tips to help make this year's cookies the best yet! 1. Temperature is key! From softened butter and room temperature eggs to a preheated oven, be sure to follow the recipe for the best decadent cookie results. 2. If your cookies are too hard, place them in an air-tight container with a slice of bread, and they'll soften overnight. 3. Not a baker? Grab a GIANT cookie bucket and drizzle on melted chocolate and top with chopped nuts or sprinkles. Add them to a pretty platter, and no one will ever know they aren't homemade! 4.
