Last week, Airman First Class Liam Noone trained with St. Mary's Regional Medical Center Emergency Department employees to advance his acute care skills. St. Mary's Regional Medical Center partners with Vance Air Force Base to provide active duty Air Force medics with emergency care training to ensure that military personnel in the field receive the best care possible.
On Wednesday, employees from Manatee Memorial Hospital gathered for a Topping Off Celebration at its Emergency Care Center. Employees, medical staff, hospital board members, community leaders and volunteers gathered together to sign one of the last beams that will be used to top off the new building. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2018.

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.,is now using NicView technology to connect parents and guardians with their newborns in its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The hospital joins Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas, among hospitals owned and operated by subsidiaries of UHS in using the technology.

Yesterday, a ceremony was held at Texoma Medical Center (TMC) to celebrate the opening of its newly expanded Emergency Department and tower. Since its opening in 2009, visits per year to the ED at TMC have more than doubled, from 32,000 to 65,000 visits per year. “We are seeing the growth here now because of the quality of care,” said Ron Seal, Chief Executive Officer of TMC.

A new national survey found a high prevalence of eating disorders and disordered eating among LGBTQ youth. The study, conducted by The Trevor Project and the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) with funding from Reasons Eating Disorder Center, was designed to better understand how eating disorders impact LGBTQ youth.
