Welcome to Valley's February and March 2019 New Employees! When February's snowmaggedon hit, it wiped out the scheduled New Employee Orientation for that month. Fortunately March weather was much more cooperative and the February and March sessions were combined for a total of 130 new employees! Valley is happy to welcome a variety of employees who will provide much needed support and care across the Valley organization.

Thank you to Barb Johnson, our 2019 Quarter 1 Volunteer of the Quarter! Volunteer of the Quarter Barb Johnson ( pictured below with Member Services & Volunteer Operations Coordinator Lara Wilmore) routinely covers two shifts at the Infusion Center and the Cancer Resource Center each week. Barb goes above and beyond at the Infusion Center to ensure supplies like blankets and pillows are well-stocked and the patients have all their needs met (like ordering lunch for them, making sure they are comfortable and have water, etc.) Barb is also instrumental in training all new volunteers at both the CRC and the Infusion Center.

Many warm thanks to our amazing and dedicated staff who worked very long hours during the Seattle Snow Storm to make sure our patients were well cared for, meals were cooked, phones were answered, rooms were cleaned, snow was plowed, staff were picked up, heat and lights were on and operations continued as smoothly as possible for the community we serve. It was no small task to coordinate all of the resources needed: the staffing, boarding, transportation, communication, supplies, IT services and all of the support that happens behind the scenes. It took team members and providers willing and ready to step in to alternate roles at different locations because there was a need and they were committed to help. Valley is extra special because of its remarkable people and from our team to yours, we want you to know that we appreciate you and we THANK YOU!
