I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots (London, England) in Oct 2018
Interview
Got to my interview 15minutes early, was led upstairs by the manager to their very cold and unwelcoming staff room. Sat there until my actual interview time when the manager returned and lead me all the way back down stairs into an office. Before even entering and starting the interview he stated “If you don’t get the job here I’ll be happy to recommend you to other branches I know are hiring” this obviously told me he had already found someone he wanted to hire for the role. He asked very basic questions and hardly wrote anything down, which to me confirmed what I thought. The whole interview was a waste of my time as it was obvious the role was filled.

Interview
I was asked to briefly talk about myself and then given general competency based interview questions. I was then given a leaflet to read over I was then asked to talk to the interviewee as though I were speaking to a customer, who was enquiring about the particular topic.

It was basic competency questions that they had already prepared they are given an option of 2 and choose which one they would like to ask you. As boots is a global company the questions come from HR not the manager who is interviewing.
