Pros

High quality products. Great marketing. Good merchandising support. Innovative products and not afraid to try new products in new categories. Very popular in the law enforcement and public safety space.

Cons

role of sales is highly underrated and undervalued. Comp plan changed often and it never got better. Bonuses were earned and not paid.

Pros

I work with some of the most talented and amazing people I have every worked with! Each person hired was hired thoughtfully and carefully. We do not work from 5 to 11 as some have stated here on glassdoor quite a few times...that was actually a habit the old CEO encouraged. We are now encouraged to have a healthy work/life balance which is a nice change! I feel I'm making a difference working here! I really love my job!

Cons

5.11 is not for everyone and not everyone is a fit for 5.11.

Pros

Growing company; opportunity for advancement internally exists. No micro management; just do your job well and everyone is happy. Very open communication; CEO is as accessible as a co-worker. Great parties, free exercise programs, and healthy snacks readily available in kitchen. You will work hard, but you will reap the benefits as well. Work/life balance is fair; never an issue if a day off is needed and family comes first. Again, you work hard and you will be recognized for it.

Cons

As a growing company, processes are constantly changing and, at times, that can be frustrating. But again, that is expected with a growing company still figuring out the best way to handle situations. You will wear many hats. If you aren't someone who can multi-task or flex well, you won't like it at 5.11.
