Beware of going into the classroom here!

There are no pros to working here.

Extremely misleading during the interview process. I was told that there would be support and ongoing training. Right before I started the lead teacher had left. I was thrown in the classroom. there were 18 children in the class- 10 stayed in the classroom with me and the "over flow" of children were then shuffled to other classrooms so all teaching teams could maintain proper ratio. There was no rhyme or reason to any of it. there was no opportunity to build a routine and absolutely no consistency. It was different children getting farmed out to other classrooms everyday! this went on for weeks! after class was dismissed one day I was speaking to some of the other teachers who also said how hard it was for them and the children that were being shuffled around. It was a mess! and unfortunately very hard on these little ones who are coming from one chaotic situation into another.

Thank you for your feedback. When we have turnover, we sometimes must rearrange classrooms to maintain ratio, order and safety. It is our goal to fill our vacancies in a timely manner and we also want to ensure we are hiring the most qualified and most fit staff. We have already revisited the Substitute list to make sure we have plenty of active Substitute Teachers to fill in. Fortunately, many of the Substitute Teachers we hire end up moving into Assistant Teacher or Teacher roles. Our mission is at the forefront of all of our work and we want all of our staff to feel the same way. We are currently fully staffed with a normal, consistent schedule. Thank you for serving our children and families.

Some of the students were lovely!

Very unorganized place of business! There were always several meetings(time always changed, etc). The teachers there were all about gossip. One teacher even started an argument with another in front of the kids on my first day at the center! They are also very hypocritical as well. No one told me the majority of the students were so misbehaved! I didn't expect them to be Angels, but it became stressful/overwhelming. One student was kicking, hitting teachers/students, cursing, and punching walls. The teachers in that class said to just ignore it! Some of the teachers made inappropriate comments as well. I also was very underpaid for all I did, and I was told I'd have different hours than what I was scheduled.

Pros

People at the bottom (lower staff) good.... people at the top... are looking for a bug to squash... Those bugs are the very teachers given the responsibility to care for the children...

Cons

WATCH YOUR BACK!!!! I can't stress this enough...... point blank!...... trust yourself only and document from the day you start until the day you quit ....because you will quit. There's no but's about that... it's a fact ... this is statistically true.... Their turn rate is ridiculous... Nothing will change... Make sure you document everything.... and got to the state.... If you feel that the tide is against you and you have no voice... the state is not an enemy it's a means to a end of dysfunction. It's better to have a third party investigation... than to lose the kids you love and build relationships with..... If you have a job your hate.... You'll hate this one much more... there's a fire burning here.... Don't touch the pot unless you want you get burned... I hope at this point you choose to take the other job your were looking at..... I wouldn't right this review if I didn't want the same thing to happen to anyone else... Your not a very smart person if you read all these reviews and still take the job. Some of these review are sugarcoating the truth.
