Pros

Laid back work atmosphere, results driven company. Sales income is based on how hard you want to work and how many hours you want to put in.

Cons

Work / life balance can be a bit hard due to the nature of the job.

Thank you for taking the time to review your work experience. We hope that you are adjusting to the demands of the role and the needs of your customers. This position is certainly not a 9-5 type of job, but we encourage you to schedule opportunities for more work/life balance. Even though there are demands on your time early on, it should be easier to maintain a better balance after a season or two.

Pros

I am currently employed with Advocate and have had a great experience thus far. I was born and raised in St. Louis, attended catholic school and even UMSL for college. I enjoy working here mainly because everyone here works with integrity and is honestly out to help people. I have helped numerous people this far and they have thanked me time and time again. I've also helped my family out after the recent storms to get them back to pre-storm condition. I wouldn't continue to work here if it was any different.

Cons

Sometimes the hours are really long and I generally work six days a week, but I don't mind it too much. Going door-to-door can be mentally tiring with some people I interact with but when you finally find that one person that listens and gets on board; it can be very rewarding.

Pros

All of the management team are extremely friendly and helpful. The environment of Advocate Construction in very relaxed. The management team seems to truly care about the individual employees on a personal level. The moral standing of the company is very high they try to keep everyone above board. In an industry where dirty tactics can be employed Advocate Construction does not use dirty tactics.

Cons

The level of communication between claims advocate and managers and assistant managers could use some improvement. Sometimes things can get lost in translation in the communication process.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I'm happy that the time and energy we spend focusing on developing the skills of our people is being felt by our outside sales people. Every individual we hire, we do so in hopes that they learn to become a happy, successful and fulfilled contributor to our company for a long time. Communication between sales people, assistant managers and managers is a very big concern for our company. In fact, our concerns don't stop there. We have the huge task of ensuring communication between all of those roles as well as all the roles in the production team. This is why we have been developing a CRM (customer relationship management) tool to help manage the huge increase in business that we have experienced over the last 4 years. Last spring, we identified the additional challenges that our growth were causing and began a relationship with a software developer to make seamless communication with all roles fast, easy and complete. We had hoped to have this program ready for launch at the beginning of our 2016 build season, but there have been delays. Some of the challenges we are facing right now are related to the incomplete program that is currently being tested by our managers. Thank you for confirming our need to get this program fully operational as quickly as possible.
