Some great team members and potential but poor culture and leadership

Pros

The typical startup stuff - food, beer, coffee and table tennis. Adjustable desk, screens and laptop. Three potential.

Cons

Micromanagement. Tech and design debt. Lack of decent leadership and culture. Young team. Poor maturity in product and design practise with limited openness to learn. What you can churn out for them culture.

Don't believe the hype

Pros

Airwallex manages to hire a lot of sharp young talents, with whom it's a pleasure to work with.

Cons

The culture of any company is set from the top, and in Airwallex the top stinks. The CEO is arrogant, impatient (not in the good way), and reacts rudely whenever anything isn't perfectly aligned to what he thinks or understands to be correct. Most feedbacks are laced with sarcasm or contempt, and the tone of impatience is ever present. This attitude gets passed on to the middle management, who either have to shoulder immense stress at having to manage the boss, or pass the crap on to the lower levels since the general culture lets people get away with treating staff with little respect. There is zero benefit of doubt here, everything is micromanaged, scrutinised, and questioned. Be prepared to defend every single little action item to death - and yes, it is as exhausting as it sounds.

It getting worst!

Pros

Kitchen food, new laptop, desk, chair, office location in city near water.

Cons

Many issue. I see company post fake review - push down real reviews Change mind all the time, dont know what to do? Politics grow alot. No supports new employee. No ethic in work - ask me to do anything Feel stress all the time. HR ask to post good review everywhere No good place to work, no engineerings culture, many people nasty Call mid night for work No good management.

We take reviews seriously and provide a number of mechanisms, including Glassdoor, to gather employee feedback so that we can identify areas for improvement across the business. The greatest challenge for us is that when serious concerns are raised, as you have listed that you feel stressed all the time and do not have support, we are unable to identify specific actions to resolve this unless you also raise these issues with your manager, HR Dept, or a member of the leadership team. Some of what you have written is part and parcel of joining a fast-paced business. We are required to change direction frequently, and sometimes pick up tasks outside of our role, and we acknowledge this is not easy for everyone. Please enable us to work with you to resolve your concerns by speaking with us. When we are able to identify an individual or a team which may be overloaded or requires additional support, we can then take the steps to work through these issues together.
