Pros

The work is fulfilling and meaningful. If you like working with kids, you'll really enjoy getting to know your students and spend one-on-one time tutoring them and watching them grow.

Cons

They pay you starvation wages, take very little precaution for Covid, threaten to take away your health insurance if you get sick, don't give you breaks or adequate prep time, and tell you that you should be grateful to be treated so poorly. Because it's "service," not employment, and you're "building empathy" with the families you serve. I didn't need this job to teach me what it's like to be worried about making rent.

Pros

Great co-workers, and their programs do benefit the communities they reside in (schools, forests, public health, etc)

Cons

Burn-out is real. Program Managers have a very broad job description, and the workload is never done. Pay doesn't reflect the extent of your job duties.
