Pros

Overtime opportunities, potential for advancement (if you play your cards right), great foot in the door for work in the DD/Autism field

Cons

long hours in direct care and mandated to stay doubles- frequently get screwed over by other employees when they call out. Although there is potential to advance in direct care, you need to play your cards right with the right people- there is no advancement outside of direct care without a masters degree. major favoritism problem- those who work long hours, don't rock the boat, don't try to change things for the better get better treatment. I worked putting the participants first but frequently the other staff would only work to make their job easier which set the participants back and there was a lot of regression with behaviors.
