Great to Start, Hard to Stay

Pros

- Good company if you are starting your career or if you have been in the workforce for a while and looking to retire. - Stable environment. Only way to leave is if you go voluntarily or get sold off. - Benefits are good, standard. Nothing over the top. They pay for school which is a bonus. - Stable, growing company stock. - Mostly friendly, supportive staff. - Flexibility to touch on a lot of areas and get good experience.

Cons

- Departments are in their own silos and fail to communicate effectively with eachother. - Pay is not competitive. High potential employees are undervalued monetarily. Awards are not based on any metrics and are not necessarily given to the employees who work the hardest or deserve it. You'll get a blank stare if you ask how your raise or bonus were calculated. You really only get paid well if you are in senior management or are in the Union. Unfortunately, the only way to make more money is by taking a job at another company or threatening to leave. - Supervisors will not necessarily speak on your behalf or support you. Hard to put your trust in your manager because a number of them are only looking after themselves. - Lack of development or a defined career track for corporate employees.

Pros

The compensation package was decent but the health insurance deductible was a bit steep. That is about the only thing positive I can think of.

Cons

Management is unprofessional, unorganized, not truthful and training was a new employee searching through 1000's of files to find what they were looking for. Note to you idiots: organize your filing system, should only be 1 location for a specific project file, not two or more. I wouldn't spit on the building if it was on fire!

Pros

I like that I'm assured 40 hours, but if I work more I am compensated.

Cons

Sometimes I work a lot of hours.
