Pros

Leadership: Two successful founders who have each started 4 companies prior to Braintrust. The best part? They are humans. They care about their team deeply, and have lives outside of work. Goals: The company is very goal oriented and data driven. And, in the past 6+ months, we’ve blown every goal we’ve set out of the water. So, if you like to set goals, exceed them, and repeat, this is the place for you. Culture: Highly autonomous, and relentless in pursuit of greatness. Braintrust hires people who are best in class, and trusts and enables them to do what they are best at (imagine that!) You will work hard, but you will also have a life; best of both worlds ;-) Team: Truly one of the smartest, most motivated and kindest groups of people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. There is no “dead weight” - every member of the team brings a unique skillset and value, and they are always willing to jump in and help one another. Benefits: Ownership - first and foremost, competitive salary, healthcare, 401k, learning & development, technology, gym, and house cleaning (!!!) stipends.

Cons

Not sure this is a “con” per se, but it’s hard work! The company has gained amazing traction in it’s 2+ years of existence, so the hard work has definitely paid off, but if it was easy, everyone would be doing it ;-)

Pros

The initial pay is decent, but you will be hit heavily when you have to take out your own taxes. Peer staff supports one another.

Cons

Poor communication from management. They become angry if you have a clarification question about procedures that were not clearly outlined in their outdated instruction videos. They don't take feedback well after asking for it. You could be the best teacher, always on time, proactive and never miss a day, but they will fire you if you give them honest feedback. They're not willing to admit when they're wrong or make adjustments, even if those adjustments would be beneficial for students. They don't personalize the content to the demographic of the students they teaching. Poor quality control when it comes to the content of their PPT lessons for students. Misspellings and errors abound, which is disppointing since this content is shown to young learners.

Pros

The platform itself shows real promise—smart, efficient, and forward-thinking.

Cons

My interactions with the Braintrust recruiter (or customer success manager) felt transactional and surface-level. There was little effort to build a real connection, provide proper context, or follow through meaningfully. Communication lacked transparency, and it often felt like I was just another ticket in a system—not a person worth engaging with. In a space built on intelligence—human or artificial—I expected more from the people powering the platform.
