Pros

Remote culture Supportive management Team focused Decent starting pay

Cons

Unfortunately myself along with 20% of the company were laid off Nov 1st 2022. I was told this was not performance based, and should the role open again that I would be contacted. 6 months later, that position is now open. Its a slap in the face to everyone who was in this role and let go due to circumstances out of our control. I enjoyed my position with Brightline, I enjoyed being able to support families in need. However, this was a cruel decision made that affected multiple people and their families. I would never feel safe working for a company like Brightline.

Pros

I have been with the company three months and have been so impressed with the people and company culture. Everyone is united behind the company goal of helping families. I have not experienced any big egos or politics, just a bunch of open, friendly people who will help in any way they can. I have never worked for a company that cares more about the well-being of its employees. You are encouraged to take a mental health day when you are burned out. There is weekly meditation and yoga. There are a variety of book clubs and other social groups. It is also completely normalized to say you need to take some time to care for your family. What I have observed is that the company has made such a safe, friendly environment that people are willing to be open and vulnerable in a way I have not seen before, and by extension teams have developed a strong sense of trust and honest communication.

Cons

The company is growing quickly, so it is sometimes hard to keep track of all the new faces.

Cons

>Disorganized systems >Racist inequitable treatment among employees of color >Lack of work/life balance >Lack of transparency >Completely incompetent management >Lack of accountability >Blatant favoritism >Unfair and unequal salaries for employees who work the same position and have equivalent credentials >Turnover rate is very high >Very deceptive and dishonest marketing. They dismiss negative reviews as reviews that are simply disgruntled employees who need to vent and say that for every negative review, "there are so many employees that have positive experiences". They want a higher glassdoor rating in order to encourage more applicants to apply to this dysfunctional company >The Brightline NY glassdoor page is a misrepresentation of Brightline as a company as a whole. This glassdoor page is titled"Brightline company in New York" only and suspiciously mostly has the highest ratings. >I urge you to go to the glassdoor page that is titled "Brightline" and has a 3.8 star rating which is a much more accurate representation of the "Brightline" experience. Most of the negative reviews accurately capture the ongoing negative issues that persist at Brightline
