Pros

The company is very flexible when it comes to taking time off, management doesn't seem to breathe down your neck and lets you get your work done if you are actually performing well, $2 premium added to base pay on the weekends is nice (but I heard that they recently did away with that)

Cons

They barely give raises, no paid overtime (and there are plenty of times when you have to work off the clock to finish things), no training in produce/floral, corporate just comes into the store to scare the employees but nothing is fully done about issues in the store, they are way too lenient on their sexual harassment policy i.e. not firing people for threats and harassment, almost impossible to get fired even if your work ethic is lacking, corporate doesn't care about anyone in the store's opinions but management

Pros

The staff, coworkers, guests made it a great experience. They compensate well for having to work evenings (additional $0.50 per hour) and weekends (additional $2 per hour, $2.50 for weekend nights).

Cons

Lacking leadership development and coaching. Corporate has no idea what kind of store this is- a small, family run business? A hip, organic local shop? A value-minded grocery store? And those messages trickle down to the hourly staff. When corporate comes though for their weekly "walks", fear runs through everyone. The higher-up's don't acknowledge the hourly staff (or even make an effort to know anyone's names). There is little to no praise for good work, yet they turn out quarterly staff surveys (without a comment section to actually express one's concerns).

Pros

Employees generally friendly, stores clean, customers tolerable, and more professional work environment than average grocery store in the area (Kroger, Meijer, etc.)

Cons

Owner rules over the company with an iron fist while his corporate drones make random spot checks throughout store to ensure a constant fear based work environment is always in place. Organization claims to be based around performance but it seems like its much more about control. Great ideas are kept out of the works if they change the daily system and most managers are not the most talented, only the ones that are "in line" get and keep promotions. Huge worker shortage, huge workloads for small number of workers per department. Company trying to nickel and dime on wages which definitely hurts service to customers. Overall, feels like they have a war on their employees.
