Pros
I've seen many negative reviews about Business Information Systems (BIS). So like always negative comments are often made and rarely the positive comments. I always try to read the best and worst of each when I’m buying a product. So I want to take my time and give my thoughts of my 10+ years of employment. Being a mid-sized company, I have never felt like I'm just a number within the company. I've found management has always been open to new ideas and suggestions that are made. Even if we didn’t go the route I thought was best, I’ve always felt encouraged to take ownership and make suggestions. So I've always had a sense of ownership in my work and in our company. I like that during our meetings everything is referred to our successes and we accomplished this. Instead of everything being referred to as my success and I accomplished this. Advancement is based on performance. When I was first interviewed I was under the impression, that as soon as I graduate College, I’d be making really good money starting off. So when I started off with a lot less salary than I was thinking. It was a tough pill to swallow! I decided to accept the job anyways and started working with the idea of it being a temporary job to gain experience. That was the best career move I’ve ever made. After starting I realized I didn’t know what I needed to be a valuable employee off the bat. So I now understand why I started off with a lower starting pay. You have to prove yourself before you are going to make good money. I have found if I work hard and step up to new challenges, advancement will happen. During my 10+ years I've seen many people leave the company that felt entitled to advancement. In the same sense I have also watched many of the employees advance to higher positions. Overall I feel BIS is an excellent company to work for! I’ve seen numerous employees being pushed to be certified in certain fields that the company paid for to better the employee. During the past 10+ years I’ve seen many advancements to make sure employees know they are appreciated and changes made to improve employee morale. I read one post that BIS customers hate us. I believe that is the furthest thing from the truth. Since our company has grown from reputation of doing a good job and providing excellent customer service. So my overall recommendation is: If you feel you are entitled to everything and everyone owes you something for nothing, then BIS isn't probably for you. On the other hand if you want to work hard and earn advancement within a company then BIS is an excellent job opportunity for you.
Cons
Really enjoy BIS and nothing comes to mind.
