Pros

I started with COPS about a year ago and I knew the minute I walked through the door that this place was different. You get out of your employment what you out in. If you are dedicated and work hard then you can achieve anything there. The job is very rewarding with great benefits, flexible schedules, great pay, and a wonderful environment. There are many perks such as company paid trips, gym membership reimbursement, and having rotating weekends off. Overtime is often available and is encouraged. If you have a strong desire to help people then you will have a fulfilling career at COPS. I am as excited to come to work today as I was the first day I started! I started as a dispatcher and worked my way into management within six months with the help and support of our team. Anything is possible with COPS!

Cons

While it is sufficient, I would like to see some changes in our training program.

Pros

Benefits (tangible and intangible) Trips/ Holiday Parties/ Picnics Recognition (chairmans award) Insurance, 401k Long term working relationships turned friendships

Cons

You will have trouble if you are not serious about your attendance. Expectations for coming to work on your scheduled day are realistic; considering the nature of our industry. We must be properly staffed in order to efficiently respond to potential emergencies. Take your job seriously and this will never truly be a problem!

Pros

-Great job to have if you're going to school and need a job that will work with your school schedule -Good Benefits for full time employees -Lots of opportunities for bonuses -You can move up in the company, but only if you're full time and willing to take on extremely long hours & if you are willing to do that, you would have to be considered a favorite, or you would have to know someone who works there to be considered to move up. -They give you a gift every year on your birthday with cards signed by the CEO & the President -You're actually doing something important to assist with helping people in possible emergency situations -You're pretty much independently working on your own at a cubicle in front of a computer, sitting next to other dispatchers doing the same thing -Plenty of opportunities for over-time

Cons

-Pay is pretty low considering the nature of the job -After you work there for a while, if you don't know anyone or if you aren't considered one of the manager's favorites, you will have little chance of moving up in the company -Hope to god that you are not one of the people that they forget about, because if so, you will never receive a uniform or a proper headset as they promise you, once you reach level 4, until you annoy them every day for the rest of your life about it & they finally actually do their job -Too many different levels of upper management to go through, which is why i believe there are many miscommunications and conflicts in general, and why nothing ever gets done unless you badger them about it -They offer an Employee Suggestion box for employees who have great ideas possible for the company, but the suggestions are never taken seriously or are disregarded -The President of the company is a phony and doesn't even know how his own company operates -You work long hours in a room with no windows for security purposes, which is understandable & is a con for me specifically -You have to ask to go to the bathroom/leave the room for productivity purposes, the manager must know where every dispatcher is at all times
