Pros

AAA is a great brand and use to be a great company to work for. The benefits seem good; the faciltiy is nice and the people are enjoyable to work with. Generally, the culture is great and it's a good company.

Cons

The company has lost its' way. Senior Management has put all of our eggs in the 'service' basket - risky proposition in this economy where price is 'THE' driving factor for a majority of America. It seems as if Senior Management believes the strategy can't be wrong, it has to be the structure of the organization - so let's restructure! The IT division has be restructured twice in ONE year! The company also doesn't seem to have any issue with paying for exorbitant expenses and 'pet' projects that result in nothing to the bottom line. Senior Managment continues to protect and support ineffective and useless managers who think they know technology.

Pros

AAA is such a recognizable and familiar brand that has terrific community outreach programs. I have never worked for an employer who embraced such diversity in their workforce. Work/life balance was encouraged at least within the group I was working in. It was also my first opportunity in my entire work career to experience telecommuting.

Cons

The constant reorganizations within the company created fearful work environment. Employees feeling really unsure and insecure about their future and rumors ran rampant. I understand the concept of restructuring to align business needs but I don't understand the inability for management to let the dust settle and take measurement before the next restructure. It was like working for an interior designer who cannot make a decision of which way to place the furniture for optimal enjoyment.

Pros

AAA NCNU is a good place to work for people looking for steady, if uninspired, employment. Benefits are generally better than average, and historically there is a culture of supporting employees and taking very good care of customers.

Cons

Pay is sub par, and the company has taken on a relocation strategy of moving resources from (salary expensive) San Francisco to places like Oklahoma, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Walnut Creek. The culture is changing - everyone is worried for their employment (unheard of even 2-3 years ago), management is increasingly secretive, and many of the original San Francisco employees feel alienated by social/poltical values of the Phoenix and Colorado Springs newer employees. The company doesn't know how to innovate, and is losing lots of business to its competitors.
