Pros

-Worked with some of the smartest and most helpful people I have ever met. -Most leaders are very down to earth and available -Work life balance is better than most other consulting firms. You can always say no to internal work and generally, if you are billing 40 hours a week for a client, that's enough -Get to work with a wide variety of teams, clients, and technologies -Flexible working locations and generally low travel requirements Easy to say no to travel. -Many social events and fun outings which Captech pays for. Most coworkers are fun too!

Cons

-New Bonus structure incentivizes employees to game PTO and how they bill client hours -Company is improving, but diversity is still a large issue. -Company is prioritizing hiring and growth of college hires, sometimes at the expense of more experienced and tenured hires -Consultants have lack of control over staffing, and with a new bonus structure, consultants can lose several thousand dollars of bonus for things outside their control such as a client delaying a few weeks to start a project. -Lack of control over projects can also lead to projects that are not the right fit skillset wise and impact a consultant's career path -Internal networking is sometimes necessary to get best opportunities

Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts with us. You are right, we have the best people at CapTech and we’re so proud of the culture they’ve built. Our leaders are approachable and as willing as anyone to help. Work-life balance and mutually exchanged benefits have always been important to us and was a driving force behind our new Employee Value Proposition. Our Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council, along with our Employee Resource Groups, are doing tremendous work driving diversity initiatives at CapTech. Our HR and Compensation teams are always evaluating our policies and practices to ensure our people growing and thriving here, but we welcome you to chat with us directly about any bonus, PTO, or billable hour issues you’ve encountered. Thanks again for your review! -Katy Apostolides, Managing Director - HR

Pros

CT will pay for your learning and development. This is good because you have a lot of free time while client work is slow.

Cons

You can spend a lot of time on the bench and that is out of your control. Very rigid promotion structure based on time at company instead of merit. Low pay for technical positions and lots of downtime where you have nothing to do. People either love it here or want out as soon as possible.

Thank you for leaving your thoughts and feedback. The bench is designed as a layover of sorts between projects, not a place of total downtime. However, you are right, we do work hard to fill the bench time with learning and development opportunities so our consultants experience growth while not staffed on a client project. We also work hard to make sure our consultants are supported by competitive compensation and a suite of traditional benefits and new offerings such as mental health benefits, fertility assistance benefits, and a fun pick-your-own benefits platform. If you’d like to chat further about your bench experience, please feel free to reach out to me directly. -Katy Apostolides, Managing Director - HR

Pros

Great company culture, smart talented people. Training opportunities

Cons

There is favoritism culture in this company and if you are a person of color, you dont get the same treatment, sense of belonging or Kudos as if you were white. . This is something company has to really work on to address. Account leadership must address this issue from heart!

Thank you for taking time to write a review. Your review makes me sad, because I imagine your time with us this past 1-2 years means you have been remote, likely 100% since you started with us. I am struck by the disconnect in your feedback versus the heart and reality of CapTech’s care and culture. It is a concerning reality, because remote work means that our CapTechers who are not proactively engaging are not experiencing our true culture. The strength of our culture is our people. The pandemic has made this incredibly challenging, and it is our #1 challenge to resolve. With the launching of our new Leadership Councils, our People Council is focused on solutions that drive our CapTech care, connectivity, and culture out to ALL CapTechers, even those 100% remote. Everyone needs to feel how much they matter to us. You are here at CapTech because we hired you to be part of the CapTech team. I encourage you to plug in with more events across the organization to help build connections. You can also reach out to the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council, and join any of the Employee Resource Groups for more in-depth connections, and to get involved in helping make improvements where you find they are needed. It’s also important to me to hear more about your experiences to encourage you and escalate any issues where needed.
