Toxic environment

Pros

Occasional employee discounts on products.

Cons

Pay is lower than industry average and benefits are also very expensive vs. industry norms. 401k payout is not a set amount and is discretionary and in 2022 they paid out a very small amount after employees worked extremely hard still short staffed and facing supply chain issues lingering from the pandemic. Bonuses are only for very top level senior executives. Supply chain staff expected to work almost 24/7, evenings and weekends yet no bonuses in 2022. Return to office is now being mandated in 2023. Most employees are very miserable and employee turnover is high in all departments. Toxic work environment is tolerated at corporate office and at the DCs. HR is aware and does nothing to improve the situation. Avoid at all costs as this is a very toxic workplace. HR even conducted a company wide survey anonymous for employees which showed very poor results across all departments at corporate. Instead of implementing changes to correct the problems they spend hours with management go over the results of the survey with employees and then ask employees to form committees to implement changes. Totally ridiculous. The changes need to come from the company and the senior leadership not the hard working employees who are underpaid and overworked.

Pros

They offer fantastic benefits. 3 weeks of vacation time starting out, awesome 401k matching. The company has a really strong culture, and they are attached to their company values. They like to ask employees for feedback about improving work culture.

Cons

They are a little traditional when it comes to things like working from home. There isn't really any sort of work from home policy. There can be long hours during busy times, but this is pretty standard in the industry. Not company specific, but the Atlanta traffic is just as bad as you've heard.

Pros

I've worked at Carter's headquarters a little over 4 years. It is located in a beautiful Class-A building in Buckhead. The company offers a variety of great benefits and volunteer opportunities. They are some of the most hard-working individuals that you'll ever met.

Cons

High turnover. Most employees do the job of 2-3 people and overworked. Work/Life balance is non-existent in some departments, working weekends, sometimes both Saturday and Sunday is unacceptable. Little to no work from home option. Lastly, there's a lack of diversity in upper management. Just attend any company meeting.
