Pros

Compensation is strong for the area and benefits are above average for a large company. Benefits are not as good as they have been previously, however, and are eroding. There are significant opportunities for development and promotion within the company.

Cons

Constellation is a traditionally run large corporation that touts values such as innovation, diversity, and respect on the surface but doesn't commit to those values internally, even at the highest levels in the company. The company is run as a top-down hierarchy and expectations from the top are demanding. Engineers are considered an unlimited resource with no additional compensation for extra hours worked. Thus, individual contributors and low-level managers are not highly valued within the company and work/life balance is severely imbalanced as a result. Be prepared to either dedicate your life to work or be considered a slacker in any salaried position.

Pros

If you're in the Baltimore HQ, you can learn a lot about the energy industry from all of experienced colleagues. If you're in sales and do well, you can earn a good salary

Cons

Old-fashioned; slow moving; a lot of bureaucracy and middle management who are comfortable just chugging along

Pros

Excellent healthcare benefits and retirement benefits.

Cons

Compensation for direct and indirect the same yet the job is very different. Direct sales work 3Xs harder and get 1/3 of the commission due to volume.
