Pros
This is a company that gets it. The work is challenging and there are high expectations of clinicians and other employees, however they are realistic expectations and a lot is given back to you. There is not "productivity" here, you are simply expected to fit within established treatment time parameters, but support is there if you need it (other clinicians to help with late patients/unexpected situations). The benefits are good. There are a lot of "fun" things provided by the company such as "fun funds" for team bonding, frequent company paid for lunches, etc. They send you gifts for holidays and anniversaries. They value your input and one to ones with management are monthly, or more if you request it. The team at my local branch is a great fit, and I find that I very rarely have breakdowns of communication, or rarely find myself frustrated with my team. The hiring is very stringent so most of the time employees are a great fit. As a therapist, I really feel that I've found my niche and do not experience the fraud and pressures of other settings. I have never once been pressured to fill out a review or pressure to put a baby in a band who didn't need it. I find it to be the opposite in fact- I am asked to be very realistic and honest with a parent if I don't feel that change would be good so that they don't treat with unrealistic expectations. I do feel that I expect to work 20+ years here.
Cons
Schedule can get a little hectic. It feels as though the company would rather have full daily schedules on the current staff before bringing in someone and risking too much space in the schedule. Criticism from regional management can be strict, but has never been unnecessary or out of line and it is constructive and applicable. The salary is good, however for the west coast it is not adjusted enough and would not be enough to make a life independently here (EI if not for my SO making comparable $$, I would have to move or have a room mate. CoL here is simply too high to justify the pay). Parents can be out of control and extremely rude. The company does not "put the blame on you" and provides what support it can, but the reality is in this area (west coast) people can have very bad attitudes which can drain quickly. There is not much opportunity for upward movement, so expect to settle into the position you are hired for. It can be repetitive. If you are not the kind of person who can find challenge in being an "expert" in ONE thing, this is not for you.
