Pros

Helping people feel better naturally, working with fun and likeminded people, and getting involved on the ground floor or a booming industry.

Cons

The customers act as though this is a commodity, like we’re McDonald’s of medical cannabis. They expect the most discounts when we’re already the cheapest in the state. Corporate is slow to respond to necessities such as window shades and air conditioning, but quick to send out sales texts to increase traffic in the dispensary. Unclear if there’s much room for growth into the corporate team.

Pros

Each day holds surprises - as the entire HR team gets laid off, those of us still here ponder when it will be our turn. That said, there is a big network of us who stay in touch and help each other out.

Cons

People and Culture is a mess with a focus neither on people or culture. The organization has paid for some awards to be given to its CHRO, but rest assured these were bought and paid for - not deserved or earned. The Leadership team within Human Resources is becoming a friends group - and it is not an effective, strategic or valuable part of the organization.

None. Do yourself a favor and find another dispensary to devote yourself too, you will not be appreciated here.

Cons

After hiring me for their lead role, they eliminated my position without informing me for THREE MONTHS. After 3 months with no contact whatsoever about when the store would open and the role would begin, I finally had to reach out myself. After three months of no word, they told me they had eliminated my position. When the position did eventually become available, they gave it to someone else without informing me the position had even become available again. Not a single thought for the employee, only focused on profits. Good luck actually getting an interview even if they previously hired you, they'll just send you through their corporate application process again where you'll be lost with the hundreds of other applications. Corporate cannabis companies like curaleaf are ruining the industry by putting profits first, and employees last. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to work, because you will not be appreciated or heard in a company like this.
