Pros

My coworkers are awesome people.

Cons

Leadership is a revolving door of taking heads with little passion or understanding of the cannabis plant or it’s consumers. Because of the company is extremely slow to react to anything and cannot keep up with market trends, pricing, ect. We simply can’t keep up. Our competitors have us constantly chasing our tails and scratching our heads. “How did they do that?” Cannot write a timely budget or forecast numbers to save their lives. You will get you budget and kpi’s halfway through the quarter. Good luck trying. They dream big! 60-90 days to get reimbursed for expenses. Will shamelessly hold pay if they need to pad numbers at the end of the quarter.

Pros

You get plenty of hands-on experience trying to figure out solutions to random user requests or issues. Great way to learn basic troubleshooting as an entry-level technician. Decent discount on cannabis products.

Cons

Management is horrible and hypocritical. They frown upon their technicians working from home (95% of support that the techs provide is remote troubleshooting for the dispensaries or WFH employees) yet management works from home themselves. There could be no running water in the building or a breakout of COVID in the office and we were still forced to be in the office. Turnover rates within the company are extremely high and with good reason. They brag about the money they make throughout the year yet won’t compensate their employees fairly. They will “promote” you within your department just to keep you from transferring into a different department to further your career. Management likes to create policies and procedures yet won’t back you up when you try to enforce them. Manager tolerates toxic employees and will not address issues in a timely manner causing a decrease in morale. One-on-one meetings are never about your own development or things going on with you, it somehow always turns into unrelated and unproductive conversations..same with team meetings. HR is also complicit with sweeping issues under the rug and can’t be trusted. Toxicity goes from the lowest levels all the way up to the top. Only way to get anywhere in the company is to brown nose and be fake.

Pros

The company is growing a rate unlike any other in the country and it is expected to remain growing for a long time, they also have a good healthcare plan.

Cons

There is no collaboration culture within the organization, departments have their own goals and responsibilities that are completely detached from the rest of the organization, making synergy more than a challenge and replacing collaboration with threats and keeping tabs as a tool to coherece people to get results. The turnover rates for management ansd upper management are something I never thought was possible in this century, upper executives hide their lack of infrastructure, softwares, coaching/training needs with employee terminations, heads roll and HR makes decisions for the managers. The lack of principles is shocking for the ones that are used to have companies that treat people as such, Curaleaf pays no mind to reasons or justifications, if you don’t make someone pay for something, you will, almost like being in the old Soviet Union and the KGB would perfectly be portraited by HR. This may be taken as a bitter review from an employee that was terminated, but I could provide a big list of examples fro the previous statements, and the most shocking, was when saying my goodbyes to my Director, I asked is in any form my performance took part in his decision, his reply was, “no, but unfortunately he couldn’t up-manage the preception of his supervisor without heads rolling while there were so many things to be addressed, there was too much noise and he was tols to turn it down” My particular case got to this point as I refused to get 2 of my reports fired for human error that, in my opinion as their direct manager, was not their fault as we had them both overworked for a while (due to the pandemic policies, one was running a warehouse on his own, doing the work of 4 people alone and the other one doing the work of 2 in a different location, both with overtime of more that 20 hours per week), in the meantime I was trying to get them a bonus for their commitment to the organization. There are so many examples I could provide, I just don't want to re-live the anxiety and depression I developed in such a short time.
