Pros

Health benefits and you can begin contributing to your 401(k) on the first day.

Cons

DFC could have been great, and instead it's taken the worst parts of its management and executive's abilities and turned them into weapons. On my last day, a coworker told me, "I wish I could have warned you to stay away." DFC's culture is based on cattiness, power plays, and fear. When half your staff cries every day (in the bathroom, on the drive to and from work, on the Metro, etc.), and everyone talks in whispers of what new medication they're trying to manage the stress caused by work, you've done something seriously wrong. I got to the point where when my manager or a C-suite person were within 10 feet of me, my stomach dropped and I started sweating. DFC needs a serious overhaul or they will continue to lose talent hand over fist the way they have the past two years.

Pros

Had talented teammates. Lower-level staff are considerate . Laid-back atmosphere

Cons

Company culture is cliquey, vindictive, and shady. Work-life balance is out the window despite the fact that this place markets itself as a small, friendly firm. Management plays favorites and is incredibly unprofessional while asking lower employees to do the opposite. Would not recommend working here to my worst enemy and the best day on the job was when I quit for a new position.

Pros

Direct access to management; managers willing to work with you in career growth; opportunity to try new things without pressure to succeed instantly; close-knit group with relaxed (but hard-working, fast-paced) culture.

Cons

Takes time to shift to modern work culture, at times; work-life balance can be difficult but is what you make it, as with any job in consulting (communication with managers about expectations is key!).
