Pros

Dire Wolf Digital will challenge you and make you better no matter what your discipline is. Are you an engineer? Some of the best engineers I've ever met work here and you will be faced with difficult problems to solve all the time. Some of the best card game designers in the world work at Dire Wolf and are constantly pushing the envelope on digital TCG design. The art department consistently produces beautiful and amazing work. This is a team you'd be proud of being a part of. And if you love gaming (of any type) then you'll fit right in at DWD. Everyone who works there loves games and enjoys talking about them. You'll often see people playing games together at lunch.

Cons

- Management can be difficult to approach. - Sometimes the hours can be long, but that only really occurs near a game launch and isn't an issue most of the time - The open floor layout is tightly packed and can make it difficult to focus. They are moving offices soon so hopefully that will alleviate some of the issues I've had with this.

Pros

-- The team is passionate, talented, outgoing, and genuinely committed to the company's success. It's great to work with a group that's not only capable and hard-working, but also humble, cooperative, and ego-free. The mix is tremendous, and sets the stage for an incredibly positive place of work. -- Exciting products to work on. There are fantastic established IPs and intriguing new titles being worked on. -- Management that listens. Over the last two years Dire Wolf has evolved from a small studio into a middling one ...and that's led to some growing pains. Management has been very receptive to and open about these problems, and genuinely seems to care about making things better. -- Room to grow. As Dire Wolf levels up, so do its employees (skills, salaries, etc). It's not just lip service. -- The location is ideal. I'm a native, and therefore biased, but Colorado is one of those rare places where you can take a morning hike in the mountains, eat breakfast at an ethnic restaurant, wander regional shopping hubs in downtown Denver, attend an NFL game in the afternoon, head to dinner and a concert in Boulder come evening, then savor a delicious local micro-brew and feel nationally relevant as you watch pundits bring up your state repeatedly on the 10 o'clock news. Dire Wolf's location downtown provides an ideal center point for whatever you want to do.

Cons

-- Long hours. They happen much less frequently than when I first started (nearly two years ago), but still occur from time to time. -- Growing pains. The company is growing, and that growth has brought challenges for leads and production. They're working through them. -- Parking. Though a good portion monthly parking is reimbursed, most employees pay some amount out of pocket. -- Employee separation. The current office is split between two floors, which forces some employees sit far away from the main group. This leads to a sense of segregation that has at times caused confusion (gathering for meetings, etc) and threatened to negatively impact overall team strength.
