Pros

I was a longtime member of the Design department at Dire Wolf, eventually ending up as a Senior Designer. I learned a lot in my tenure there, and enjoyed the following about working at Dire Wolf: - Flat organizational structure in design. Everyone's ideas were listened to, and rarely was rank used as a reason to implement one person's ideas over another. - We had autonomy over our workdays. We of course had responsibilities we had to fulfill, but generally could self-prioritize and work on projects in the way we chose. - Highly collaborative environment. My coworkers were great, and we all worked together well as a team to accomplish our goals. - Exciting projects. Dire Wolf makes awesome games, and it was a pleasure to get to work on really sweet stuff like Eternal, Clank, Dune, and more.

Cons

Production was inconsistent - we sometimes were blocked by things outside our department, and it could be tough getting work done when that happened (or it would lead to a last-minute scramble, which was also stressful). Marketing didn't collaborate with Design nearly as much as I hoped they would, and it led to crossed wires and missed opportunities. Improving communication here would go a long way.

Pros

- Great co-workers. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. - Some great IPs to work on. The IPs are fairly diverse which speaks to the versatility of the studio. - Located downtown. The location lends itself to many options within walking distance for lunch or other social outings. - Staff loves to play games. It isn't too hard to find someone that will want to play a game during their lunch break or a get together after work hours. - Employee run classes. Employees are given the opportunity to share their knowledge with the rest of the office. - Office visibility. If an employee has a concern or simply a suggestion about how to make the office better is some way, that employee can post it for all to see. Many of these suggestions become topics during team meetings.

Cons

- Parking downtown can become costly. There is a reimbursement every month which takes a bit of the sting away however. - Office is currently split between two floors which can be time consuming if you need to collaborate with many different people throughout the day. - Company growing pains. The studio has grown significantly in the past 2 years and is still learning how to best manage the increased numbers.
