Pros

Great employees, fun holiday company party, vacation time is decent, 2 personal days added. 401k is not bad recently revamped. Discounts on mortgages is a nice benefit.

Cons

Used to be an awesome place to work up until Upper management has changed for the worse. They are trying to be like the “bigger” banks even though they state they never would be. Culture has changed. Not like it used to be. Lots of turnover- STILL they don’t pay well even with added pressures. How do they expect to keep loyal/great employees? Upper management goes by the book on “increases” during review time... may make exceptions by 1% if you are above and beyond your goals. Completely ridiculous how this place is starting to look like Citizens only WITHOUT the pay. Start recognizing your employees by rewarding them with actual salary increases... not $25 or $50 gift cards randomly. That’s almost a slap in the face. Thanks for gas money. Such a joke

Pros

Able to get management experience without a college degree. Somewhat flexible hrs if you are the one making the schedule. Good benefits.

Cons

Extremely low pay. New hires get at least 5k more than promoted employees get. You can get atleast 10k more for same position at another bank. Ancient equipment that always goes down. If they want you out they will find a way to get you out. They have no appreciation to loyal employees and have seen many leave because they don't kiss up to upper management. They have no specific HR policies or procedures where employees can view them. They make them up on the fly as to whether or not they agree with your reasoning. It says in employee handbook each position is given a payscale and grade but when you ask them about it, they will tell you they don't have one and you're in the middle of the road to make you think your making a decent wage. You are not. If you are trying to be a branch manager just know that you will be a glorified sales person. Assistant branch manager you are truly the branch manager but they are taking advantage of you by giving you title of assistant mgr so they can pay you less. You are really doing all the work. Same with the lead teller, you are doing all the work of asst. manager but getting paid less because they give you title of lead teller.

Pros

Currently, the only positive attribute at this Company are the Co-workers.

Cons

I have worked at Dollar Bank for nearly 20 years and am highly disappointed and discouraged with the direction it has taken. The environment has greatly changed. The Branch Administration has become unsupportive micro-managers, and taking away the work- life balance that Dollar once held the edge over competitors. There's no question that Dollar Bank does not pay nearly what the competitors do, but I have always thought of it as a trade off; less pay for less stress and better work-life balance. Sadly, this is no longer the case. Aggressively sales driven, taking away branch independence and limiting employees requests of PTO. There is a lack of staff in branches, causing them to constantly reallocate employees to other branches. If you refuse, or are unable to accommodate their requests, they will become passive aggressive with that/those employee(s), and even the branch as a whole. I hate to think of this, but after 19 years of my dedication, investment and loyalty to the Bank, I feel forced to look at other companies.
