Pros

Not a darn thing. Horrible culture and below average pay.

Cons

Horrible salary. Unachievable sales goals. Regional management says they have your back but they don't. A lot of people here seem totally fake. At assistant managers meetings you are told one thing and then expected to do something else. The only way to move up in this company is to suck up. I was told when I was hired that as long as you give your best effort, everything will be ok even if you don't hit your numbers. Nothing could be further from the truth. You are coached to hit numbers, not to have the correct behaviors. As a woman of color, I constantly feel discriminated against by regional management. I don't think they take their jobs seriously. Please avoid Dollar Bank at all costs! It is a horrible place to work with below average salaries and horrible sales pressure. You would be better off at PNC or Citizens. At least you are compensated for your efforts there.

Pros

You may meet some really great people and learn a lot about the banking world.

Cons

VERY political, complaints against management do not get followed up on EVEN when you go to HR. Almost no change of advancement since they promote from outside rather than inside. Management is 50/50, some are wonderful and intelligent, some are demeaning, offensive and have no right to be in the positions they are in. Pay is terrible, raises are a joke, the amount of work you do at a busy branch for the pay you receive is not worth it. The "branch support" team they boast acts like a bunch of high school kids by bullying employees, management and trainees, they don't support anything, they don't take complaints and concerns seriously, they are sneaky and will go behind your back in a second if they feel they can benefit in some way.

Pros

Banker's hours, not commission based so no high pressure sales numbers to meet.

Cons

Gender biased - if you are a male, you will get promoted much quicker and will be paid more as well. There is definitely a boys club atmosphere despite a large portion of the company being female. Upper management is very male dominated and very full of cliques. They care more for themselves than the people who work under them. They will tell you how lucky you are to work there because they are not commission based, and because of that you should never ask for more money. Yes, you are underpaid but you don't have to sell! You should be grateful for the pittance we provide.
